The NEU provide a comprehensive package of training for members

How much does it cost? • for NEU members, our courses are either free or discounted • for other teachers, courses are competitively priced • any fees include tuition, course materials, meals and refreshments • accommodation is provided for all courses

Representatives: Foundation

Unlike the rest of the national training programme, the NEU Representatives: Level One course is delivered regionally and in Wales. This enables us to offer far more places and to bring the course closer to where you live and work. As the NEU Representative, you are members’ first point of contact with the Union.

How Do I Apply?

The course aims to: extend your knowledge and understanding of the Union and where you fit in; develop your skills and confidence to carry out your role effectively; equip you with strategies to recruit and retain members; build your confidence in your relationship with school management; and explore current issues. Representatives: Advanced

Experienced NEU representatives now have an opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge. This course will address: how to build and strengthen the NEU in your workplace how to advise, support and represent members negotiating techniques campaigning skills current issues and their implications for NUT representatives moving on to local officer roles strategies to manage your NUT representative role alongside the demands of your professional role

Who should apply?

NUT representatives who have attended, at least one year previously, the NUT Representative: Level One course.
